FAQ

1. Do all participants receive a shirt?

Yes, everyone receives a technical T-shirt.

2. Can I change my event?

Yes, you can change your race up until 30 minutes before the race start. Prior to race day, send an email to richard.westwood@gmail.com and let us know your name and registration number, the event you are currently registered for and the event you would like to change to. On race day itself, see the registration table.

3. Do I get my money back if I can't run or make it to the race on time?

There are no refunds and entries are non transferable.

4. Can I get a friend to pick up my race kit for me?

Yes. Please bring a signed note and or the confirmation number of the registration from the person you are picking up for.

5. May I register on race day?

Yes, you can register on race morning from 7:30- 8:45am.

6. Where do I park?

Arrive early. There will be parking in the south parking lots of the Professor's Lake Recreation Centre near to the road. Parking is also available on the local side streets.

7. When are awards and prizes given out? Where?

Awards for the 5K and 10K events are Sunday April 25th, 2009 at 10:30am. The awards ceremony will be held in the Professor's Lake Recreation Centre on the second floor. All draw prizes will be given out after the race. You must be present to receive a draw prize. If you didn’t receive your age group award, it will be sent out within two weeks after the race. There is no prizing in the Walking events.

8. Can I keep my timing chip?

NO, you can’t keep the timing chip. It’s your responsibility to return your timing chip after the completion of this event, if you don’t return your timing chip; you will be charged a sum of $40.

9. How do I wear my timing chip?

A short plastic zip strip (like a twist tie) to be attached to your shoe will be included in your runners kit. Only participants wearing a Chiptime Results will be timed. The antennas are embedded in the red mats on the road. Therefore the chips should be located as close to the mats as possible on the shoe of the participant. Using the strip to attach the chip to the bottom portion of your shoelaces makes it easier for the finish line crew to remove them. If you tie it into your laces you will have to untie your shoe when you finish. It is also important to put the long end of the chip pointing toward your toe.

10. Is there a cut-off time for the 5k or 10km race?

Yes, the cut-off time for both races are 11:00 am.

11. Are running/jogging strollers allow on the 5km or 10km race course?

Yes, as long as you are finished before the cut-off time of 11:00 am.
